Yuan Bao Liu Bao – Aged Woody Fragrance from the 2000s
Yuan Bao is a standout Liu Bao from Cha Zhi Ji’s Ma Cang Mu Xiang Series, referring to its aged woody aroma (mu xiang) that forms naturally after long-term storage in our dedicated Malaysian vault. Produced in the 2000s in Wuzhou, Guangxi, this dark tea showcases decades of careful transformation.
Crafted using traditional processes—kill-green, rolling, steaming, and pressing—followed by cold fermentation and slow aging, Yuan Bao offers a brew that is smooth, mellow, and densely layered. It delivers a soft yet rich liquor with lingering aftertaste and throat-warming complexity.
The aroma blends woody depth with light pine smoke and aged notes. Each steep reveals evolving textures and deepening flavor, a sign of expert blending and aging. Yuan Bao is both hydrating and deeply satisfying, ideal for multiple infusions and quiet appreciation.
A collector’s Liu Bao with serene strength and old-world character.

This tea is remarkably mellow and smooth. The distinct woody aroma, developed through years of natural aging, is profound and soothing. The broth is thick, rich, and visually stunning. Each sip delivers a deep, lingering sweetness that is incredibly satisfying and stable across many infusions. A truly classic and contemplative old tea.
