Product Description

“Luo Han” refers to an arhat, an enlightened being who has attained insight and freedom from the cycle of rebirth. “Da Ming Yuan” honours Chen Mingyuan, a legendary Qing‑dynasty Yixing potter renowned for his refined shapes and craftsmanship. This teapot combines spiritual inspiration with artisanal heritage.

The Da Ming Yuan Luo Han teapot holds 250 ml, making it perfect for sharing tea with friends or family. Hand‑built from Cha Zhi Ji’s bronze‑grade purple clay, this teapot offers dependable performance at an accessible price. Bronze grade teapots score two to three stars across aroma, texture, body and mouthfeel in our five‑grade system, making them excellent everyday companions.

The pear‑shaped body recalls the generous belly of a luohan, symbolising compassion and abundance. A slender spout and rounded handle provide a comfortable grip and a smooth, steady pour. The domed lid with looped finial fits snugly into the rim, preserving heat and fragrance. Zisha clay’s porous structure absorbs tea oils and impurities during brewing, refining the flavour of each infusion. Over time the pot will develop a seasoning that enhances your favourite tea. Meanwhile, zisha’s capillary action helps retain heat, keeping the brew at a consistent temperature.

  • Capacity – 250 ml: generous size for two to four people or longer gongfu sessions.
  • Bronze‑grade zisha: entry‑level grade in Cha Zhi Ji’s five‑grade system; reliable aroma, texture and mouthfeel at a friendly price.
  • Handmade craftsmanship: shaped by skilled artisans using aged Yixing clay and fired to a warm brown hue.
  • Pear‑shaped “luohan” design: curved body and narrow neck evoke the belly of an arhat, conveying wisdom and tolerance.
  • Heat retention & seasoning: porous clay absorbs tea oils and retains heat, developing a patina that enhances future infusions.
  • Multi‑hole filter: built‑in strainer keeps leaves out of the cup while allowing a clean pour.
  • Suitable for pu‑erh, black, oolong and dark teas: Yixing teapots enhance the complexity of robust teas.
